HIVE London Underground Bucket Collection raises £4202.88

After a 4.30 am start, 41 volunteers from the University of Southampton made their way to London with one goal in mind… to raise as much money for Support for International Change as possible!
We descended on the London Underground stations armed with buckets and much needed charm. The day began with the morning rush hour at around 7.30 am and although many people were in a great rush to get work, some kindly stopped to hand us any spare change they had. After a morning of asking for ‘spare change’ and telling people HIV-related facts, we laid down our heavy buckets and got the chance to explore London. Later in the afternoon we met up to catch the evening rush hour for another 3 hours of fundraising.
We arrived back in Southampton feeling exhausted after such a long and busy day but pleased with the what we had managed to achieve. Special thanks go out to Nathan and Rachel for organising the event so meticulously in order for it to run so smoothly and a massive thank you to each of the 41 volunteers. Without them we wouldn’t have made the £4202.88 that we did.
Awesome work everyone!
