JOIN US ON NOVEMBER 19TH FOR INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY!


Youth Challenge International (YCI), in partnership with local and international organizations (The Umoja Centre, Support for International Change, UMATI, Initiative for Youth Organization and Global Service Corps), will be hosting:


The first International Men’s Day in Arusha on Saturday November 19th 2011!

It will be held at the Mbauda Open Market Ground from 11 am to 3 pm.

This free event is aimed at promoting men and boys as positive role models and aims to educate the community on the role of males and females in health, education, family life, violence, life choices and faith-based choices.

All are welcome to attend the performances, games, and educational activities of this exciting day. Hope to see you there!

Host your own event:

Your time in Tanzania is limited, but your opportunities to make an impact don’t have to stop when you return home. Planning and hosting your own fundraising event for SIC gives you the chance to continue supporting and empowering the communities that you worked so closely with, share your experience (if you are an alum!), and spread the word about SIC’s work.

Let us know if you have an idea for an event or fundraising campaign. We can provide you with PDF handouts and tax receipts. We would also be happy to post your event on our calendar and provide any additional information you need. Contact us on this form – it goes straight to Ginny Bliss, SIC’s US Operations Manager.

Here’s an idea:

“Donate” your Birthday and Support SIC by creating a  BIRTHDAY WISH using the Causes application on Facebook!

Anyone can make a Birthday Wish and ask their friends to support SIC & (more importantly) anyone can view a Birthday Wish once its been created (whether or not they have a Facebook profile)! Simply follow these steps:

  • Feel free to join our Cause on Facebook and invite your friends to do the same!
  • Facebook will guide you through the step-by-step process of creating your Birthday Wish by setting fundraising goals and suggesting ways for you to promote them to your friends
  • You can also use IM, gchat, email, or even the phone to get the word out about your Birthday Wish to support SIC
  • Remember: donations are accepted by non-Facebook users – just be sure to send them the proper link to your Birthday Wish!
