UK Events & Fundraising

Here in the UK, the academic year is coming to a close and with it our University fundraising events. But it’s been a fantastic year – between our two well established HIVE branches we’ve raised over £9000 for Support for International Change.

Southampton have been running events raising money for SIC for several years now, but this is the first year we have actively put together a calendar of near monthly fundraisers with the aim of raising not only money for the work being done by SIC in Tanzania, but awareness within the Medical School and indeed the University about HIV/AIDS and our schools programme: HIVE.

From our cake sale back in October, to our recent Jailbreak, there’s been something in each of our events for everyone, and we very much look forward to next year when we’ll be seeing some of our favourites return and hopefully a few more too!

Liverpool
too have been fundraising hard, and this year saw a return of their Gig at Bumper, an evening thoroughly enjoyed by the masses that attended. With their schools programme now up and running, Liverpool HIVE are looking to expand their events and we’ll be sure to be seeing some exciting things happening with them in the next year too.

For more information on what our HIVE branches are up to, visit our Southampton and Liverpool facebook pages where you can find the most up-to-date photos and blogs from our events.

But UK fundraising doesn’t stop with our HIVE branches!

Our UK team recognise that the work being done by SIC to help combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in rural Tanzania would not be in any way possible without funding, and because of this relies on the support of donors like you.

Donating is possible in the UK, and every penny makes a difference, so click here to find out more.

Could you help us with our fundraising?

Individual fundraising is becoming more and more popular – I’m sure we can all think of somebody we know who has run a marathon, or cycled from London to Paris to raise money for charity. Maybe that person is you?

This year, we want to encourage as many people as possible to run/cycle/swim… you name it! And in doing so raise money for Support for International Change at the same time. If you have friends or family considering it – encourage them! And let them know about SIC, and of the vital work it is doing in rural Tanzania.

Perhaps you have something bigger in mind?
